Host Pastor

Bishop Vincent Harvey has been leading the church at 25 Nugent Street since July 2009.  He has been in ministry for 30 years and has served the body of Christ faithfully and with diligence. He felt the distinct call to ministry early in his Christian walk, when the late Elder Douglas spoke over his life at the reception service where he was given the right hand of fellowship, and added to the church at Point Hill, St. Catherine. His service in the ministry started at the Maxfield Avenue church in 1992, where he served as Lay Minister from 1992 to 1994 and Associate Pastor from 1994 to 1998.  He then served as Pastor of the Old Hope Road church from 1998 to 2009. The years in the ministry have resulted in Bishop Harvey developing a deep love and a heart for people. He is especially attentive to senior saints and the needy.

One of the most admirable qualities about Bishop Harvey is his servant-leadership.  His humility and relatability make him approachable, and allow persons to feel comfortable around him. He is wise, gives wise counsel, and is sought out for advice about spiritual, social and financial matters.  He has a good understanding of the scriptures, and teaches and preaches the word in a way that is engaging, easily understood and transformative to the listener.  Bishop Harvey’s greatest desire is to see the local congregation grow, not just numerically, but most importantly, spiritually, and to ensure that the church remains relevant to the community in which it is planted.
